Staff Spotlight- Chris Postiglione
Behind the scenes of every park, trail, or public space lies the work of dedicated public servants. One such exemplary individual is Chris Postiglione, CELM's Parks and Preserves Planning and Development Manager. Chris may be new to the department, but he certainly isn't new to Hillsborough County. In over 30 years of dedicated service, he has honed his craft of developing county assets.
Chris started his career at Mid-State Engineering and Paragon Cable Engineering, developing utility maps and site layout designs. His love for the outdoors coupled with his desire to connect with others led him to Hillsborough County, serving the Public Works and Parks Departments. His diverse workload of projects has allowed him to manage the construction of breakwaters, channel dredging, trail building, sports complexes, and fair grounds
As the Planning and Development Manager for CELM, Chris recognizes that our parks and preserves are beautiful natural resource assets. As these spaces receive updates, he makes sure we provide the ability to not only create new experiences but add additional safety and functionality along the way. When asked about his favorite part of the job, Chris stated that he loves the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something out of nothing which can be enjoyed by the community for years to come.
When he isn’t hard at work supporting our parks and preserves, you can find Chris hiking the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina. He loves visiting National Parks and harbors a deep affection for the freshwater streams which wind down Appalachian mountainsides. Here in Hillsborough, he finds solace in the untouched natural woodlands of Blackwater Creek Nature Preserve.
We’re so excited to have Chris join the CELM team and we cannot wait to see the impact he will bring to our parks and preserves.
