Lettuce Lake Conservation Park is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Located along the Hillsborough River in Tampa, the trails and boardwalk provide ample opportunity for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. Cypress swamps, pine flatwoods, and a beautiful butterfly garden give you plenty to look at along the way! Stop at the observation tower for a bird's-eye view of the natural surroundings.
For a bit more adventure, check out Little Manatee River State Park’s North Trailhead. This trail is full of natural beauty and the soothing sounds of flowing water, chirping birds, and wind rustling through the trees. The loop included on the Hiking Spree is 3 miles long, but if you're looking for a more challenging hike you can include the rest of the trail for a full 6.5 mile adventure!
Looking to leave the rest of the world behind for a couple of hours? Check out the Blackwater Creek and Lake Frances Nature Preserves. Both sites are perfect for finding solitude and peace. Explore in the early morning or late afternoon and you’re likely to catch glimpses of deer, turkey, sandhill cranes, and other wildlife.
